Im sure another 100hp would still be another 2 seconds. i do think that the gains after 400whp are much less noticable, as the lap times improve much less. this can be seen by the guys I race with that used to have 250rwhp and now have over 520rwhp and are only a couple of seconds faster than me now. (on the same DOT tires). Then, there are the guys with less hp, running real expensive slicks that can run this same time with only the tire change. still the best bang for the buck is the right tires.
I would say the most cost effective way to improve lap times is to be a better driver... After that I vote for tires, with suspension adjustments to tailor to the tires of course

I might have to buy a set of slicks just for fun.....3 more seconds would be SWEET....maybe I can score a set of scrubs from Anderson

Iceman,
I agree 100% on your explanation on HP vs seat time. My 928 has only about 230HP (or so), and I find that I can ALWAYS improve on the "line", braking and smoothness.

I was told "when you are flat out the whole track, then move up the HP".

I'm around 2400 lbs dry.

PS the slicks are nice to have....

Was your car acid dipped during the build? I'm wondering how it got SO light?

Iceman,

I'll double check, but there is nothing in here!
No dash, door inserts, nothing. Sometimes the driver isn't there either!

We had it at DEVEK years ago on the scales to show just how light Mark could make it. And he wasn't happy when I had it painted too.
