"what happens when you go to sell it..."
i guess they'll never understand, but i really liked what he said @ 11:00 of the video clip (from a couple of years ago).
i hope you all don't mind the off topic post, and you can see this interesting video clip....

it's sad that Ferry says the original 356 is the inspiration for everything at Porsche. They got burned with the 928 as it wasn't accepted and the 944 series to some extent as well. They're gun shy about doing something original that average people won't immediately recognize as "a porsh."

sounds like allo allo,
the 928 was to expencive for european market,
tax was rated on engine size.
a yearly tax 3000 dollar!! and a one time tax when you buy a new or second hand was about 5000, so only the supper rich could afford them overhere, they all wanted the 911, less taxes, smaller engine with turbo. and a v8 has the name of being a gasguzzler. remember, gasprice in europe isnt the same as in the states.
a porsche overhere is ,,even new,,mostly a weekend car or summercar.
even overhere in belgium , a neighbour country of germany, some people think my car has an audi engine,,, like the 924.
nobody seems to know it haves a v8,,,
its a forgotten porsche. but it surely turns heads, and gives smiles.
the sound is amazing, even at idle,
i would never have bought an other porsche ,i bought it for that lovely v8.

Anyway, even if I didn't fully agreed about Wiedeking's plan, its important to note, that if the German politic would have left its hands of that and accept European law, Porsche would still remain independent - and the nephew from Austria couldn't steel the table silver.
However,
ndeed. It financed much of the projects that were "real" Porsches.
Cheers

The easy answer for me is that I love the car and love to work on them. I would rather be out in the garage working on the car than watching TV. It is a better stress releiver than most others. Also it is the challenge to get them perfect if that is possible. I spent 7 on my 79 when I bought it, spend 3 or 4 since then and God only knows what it is worth now. I hate to think what the 88S4 will be like.
