I'm flying to Detroit Saturday morning and picking up my first ever 928. I pretty pumped!!!

I think I'm more excited about the 12 hour road trip home to the New Jersey Shore.

I am including my personal endorsement of Andrew Olson because of the following.

I am new to 928's and I was looking for the "right" car. I've owned a 944 Turbo as well as a Boxster and a few muscle cars. When I stumbled upon this site, Andrew (as well as many of you guys) were egar, patient and very very nice to me to teach me about these cars, what to look for and what to look out for.

When I discovered that Andrew was selling his car and I contacted him about it and he was over the top accommodating.

He explained everything about his car, sent me photo's, video's and made sure I was comfortable during the whole process.

He was patient with my stupid questions and went out of his way to fix the things that needed fixing as well as polishing the car for me.

And after all of this, he's picking me up at the airport.

Andrew doesn't know me or has ever heard of me, but he went out of his way to be nice to me.

He is passionate and knowledgable about these cars and cares about people.

I don't know anybody on this site. I'm not a OC member (yet), I have nothing against anyone or any current board members. Basically I don't have a dog in this hunt.

But if a president is elected based on passion, character and kindness, Andrew has my vote!

Well...unless this car turnes out to be a piece of s#@t, the I take all of this back

Don't forget its the woodward dream cruise this weekend if your in Detroit you have to make atleast one tour of the woodward/pontiac loop, you have your new baby show it off for all to see.... congradulations and happy motoring

Welcome to the group, and congrats on your purchase. The drive home will be a pleasure. Take a few alternate routes on the way, instead of just I-90/80 all the way. It's your 'first time', make it memorable! Good group of owners there on the Jersey Shore area too. Lots of good support. Take advantage during your formative period.

Woodward Dream Cruise would be a hell of a first drive… never been there, only dreamt about it.
Heard from multiple people how cool it is. Something every car guy should experience at least once.

Actually, I'm certain it would be fine. The car is all cleaned up and ready to go. My wife cannot wait for it to go... she wants her garage space back.

A quick update. Since I plugged the alarm/keyless entry system back in, the battery has been fine. I'll verify when I get back on Thursday night that all is good as this will be a 5-day stint with the alarm activated.

I will not pick you up in your car, because I want you to see it start up COLD, but I will pick you up in a 928!

Detroit must be the resting spot for 928's. I purchased mine from Detroit as well and drove it back to Baltimore. Flew out, site unseen, and drove it back. No problems on the way back. Just wished the a/c worked.

Congratulations on your car . You will enjoy the trip. I flew to seattle WA about 4 weeks ago and drove mine back to Virginia also with no A/C or Radio. But who needs one with the way these things sound and move. ENJOY!!

Good that you had the sense to buy from an enthusiast on this list- 90% of the battle won with that decision alone!

Just remember you are not buying a new car and things can and invariably will still go wrong from time to time but hopefully not too often and not too expensively. You should still put aside a couple of grand contingency for this and that and if you do not need it great but do not whinge if you do.

I'm sure there's more that I'm leaving out, but this car is in great shape and should be a good runner. THere are still a few projects left to do, so I didn't take ALL the fun out of it. Steve's gonna love this car.
