NEW High Flow 2-1/2" Cat Back system 87 to 95
I am pleased to announce that we are taking orders for the new High Flow Cat Back System for the 87 to 95 cars.
Designed and Developed by MotorSports SLC the builders of the X and Y pipe systems (not to be confused with 928motorsports).
They have done an excellent job of designing the system to fit a number of criteria not limited to just performance.
Mandrel bends for smoother flow and less back pressure.
Stainless Steel 304 inluding clamps and brackets.
Metric hardware so our toolkits feel at home.
The currently available options are as follows:
1. Either polished or brushed stainless tips, no cost difference for either.
2. Built for either the factory cat back system or the X pipe with or without catalytic converters, once again no additional cost. However we will need to know the details of your system to ensure the correct fitment.
The rear muffler is directional and will be quieter when fitted one way or slightly more sporting when fitted the other way. The difference is not a lot but should cater for the majority of customers requirements.
We fitted the first system this weekend and so far so good. Fitment was easy and everything went together quickly. The system is fitted to a 93 GTS 5 speed owned by Jim M. I know he will chime in with real comments as he lives with the new system during the coming week.
Limited on pictures at the moment but will add more as the week goes on.
I know we should have cleaned the oily finger prints off.
The system as far as the ***-ometer adds more ponies and we will do some dyno results to confirm the feel.
For our overseas customers the system will fit within current shipping regulation dimensions which is a big plus.
Price $1540 plus shipping.

David, I think most of those greasy fingerprints are mine. I can just watch somebody working on a car and I will get greasy. Jim was nice enough to let me assist him in putting this on his car until I put the prints on it. I was then relegated to the MM and rack bushing detail while he and others assisted him in finishing up the exhaust.
It is a beautiful system and does have a really nice growl on acceleration.

The new exhaust system is just awesome! The ***-O-Meter says there is a definate incrase in power and it seems to rev faster. That could just be me with the excitment of a new system and the increased volumn.
Unfortunatly for me, we installed the aft muffler in the "LOUD" position. It sounded fantastic and turned every nearby head in the parking lot at work today, but still to loud. On the highway at cruise speed (70MPH) you can always hear the exhaust, again not irratating, just there. So tonight I swapped ends on the aft muffler.
The muffler is ingenious, there are small internal scoops, pointed forward to catch the air is the quiet mode, pointed aft so the air passes over the scoops and it's the LOUD mode. The muffler fits perfectly either way and the exhaust tips just swap ends. Great system with a lot of thought put into it.
In the quiet mode the exhaust is very mellow, a little louder than the RMB but not at all objectionable. Just did a short drive around the block so a report will follow when I get it out on the highway.
Bottom line I'm VERY pleased and this is a great product, very well designed and yes it fit perfectly on the MotorSport SLC "X-pipe"!

I'm computer challanged so it will have to be someone else to add a sound bite. Maybe when we dyno it in a week or two.

Easy Jim, easy. I was only joking. Mine is dirty underneath too.
Does anyone know if MotorSports SLC makes a header x-crossover to use with the MSDS headers?
I have the MotorSports SLC x-crossover now but I want to install the MSDS headers I have which means the x-crossover would have to be changed.

David, my car is a driver, not some garage queen. For me that underside IS clean. Please note in the pics where I reversed the muffler, I did wipe off all the hand and finger prints, but I promise you I put more on it re-installing the muffler and they are all still there.

Jim, let me know if you dyno it over a weekend... We can video the dyno runs like we did for OCIC.

3" x-pipe for MSDS headers would be nice. Problem is, the variances I"ve seen in those headers would make it a tricky product to produce.
Some point straight back, some curved in and some more than others.

So Rog, what would the cost be to get and X and that system on my '92 GTS? It only has an RMB on it now and that is FAR to quiet... Needs more noise AND more power (Some day I will do the cams and RRFP Reg, like Jim M did)... With the X and this system can the stock Cats stay in place? It does still need to pass smog here in Austin.
