My super rich situations on my 85 and 86 have been flooding due to bad grounds.

On the valley V, the ground ring terminals were clean, but the wires themselves and their connection to the terminal had corroded where 6 of them were soldered into the ring terminal on the passenger side.

On 86 car the issue was the coil grounds.
On the 85, the issue was the ring terminal.

Just trying to help you here.

On second thought, after reading this stuff, I feel very uncomfortable with all this. I dont feel the instructions are clear enough for an electrical rookie and last time I touched those things the car stopped starting. Thanks for the help so far, but I am done today.

Sean I need to speak with you again, please give me a call when you can.

The test plans don't cover everything.
Kudos for a valiant attempt at using them, though. Good work. You've got to be close. Keep the faith. Let Sean put some new eyes on it. Sometimes that is what it takes.

Sounds like it is flooded. Plug MAF in, remove FP fuse, foot to the floor until it fires, then replace FP fuse, starting with foot to the floor, gradually decreasing throttle until it runs on all cylinders.

If you leave it some time after flooding, then miss the first step.

Left it for about 4 days and came back to crank it with another battery and still no start.

Could cranking the engine with the coil leads unplugged from the caps damage the coils?

Diag is finished. One sticky relay and a really bad MAF. New MAF will be here Monday and he is good to go. Car purrs like a kitten with a known good MAF.

Love it when some things are easy.

All I can say is wow. I've never given my baby to anyone and I have never paid anyone to fix a car, but this was some of the best money I've ever spent. Several hours and the relief made me almost want to cry. You are a life saver Sean!
