Talking New Vendor Introduction

Introducing 928partseast. I am potsiewebber (James Ferraro) most of you know me, I have been a member of this community for many years. I have sold many miscellaneous parts over the years as well. Recently I purchased the inventory of 928 Worldwide from Mason Fine. I know, not a crowd favorite. If any of you need inexpensive quality used parts please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am alone in this venture so please bear with me as it will be a slow starter. I prefer email when contacting me for now as I am working to get the website and phone lines set up. If you need to call me, phone number is 484-919-0484. The website is 928partseast.com and
is under construction. Temorary email address is 928partseast@gmail.com. I look forward to growing the business and establishing long lasting and meaningful relationships with the RL community. I am a 928 fan, who is now committed to serving other 928 owners with the high level of service they should expect from their vendors. Please give me a chance to earn your business.
Thanks,
James

I am close to your location and look forward to doing business with you. I am familiar with the inventory that Mason had, so good luck with your venture.

Good luck. http://928partseast.com I would reccomend distancing yourself from Mr. Fine as much as possible. You bought some used parts cars of of some guy. Thats all people need to know. At least in my opinion.

Heres to wishing you the best

Congrats on the new business venture, James.

Just do the opposite of what Mason did and you should be fine.

I hope you both recognize that it is a sinking ship , a shrinking market......when the value of the 928 declined so did the value of used parts also fewer cars carry full insurance so when damaged they get hauled home and not fixed often become parts cars. So instead of buying parts to fix them they often become parts being sold by a hobby seller with no real overhead, no license, no regulation, no real warranty, no taxes....... The one GOOD thing is as a junk yard when you buy a car you write it all off because junk has no value until you sell it ! Your used "parts" inventory is carried at zero value which is right because you end up throwing away lots and lots of not so good parts. The used parts busines is very labor intensive compared to new parts sales. You constantly have to work to source dead cars , strip them , test the parts , clean and warehouse them. New parts you email and order and they can get delivered that day you just pack and ship them and get paid

Yep, I know what you are saying. I don't necessarily agree with all of it, but I won't go off on a tangent in James' thread. I will say that used parts don't make up the majority of my grand plan for the business; it is tough work. Baby steps.

The increasing number of people doing there own 928 repairs probably helps with the demand for used parts. Most repair shops resist used parts because of the warranty issue when they fail. Location as well is important due to shipping costs of donor cars and large items. Good luck to you both , the best part is you will meet and know a lot of great 928 owners.
