Default Auto Shippers

Does anyone have an opinion on any auto shippers from Phoenix AZ to Georgia. I have gotten a lot of quotes, most all in the same price range. Would like some opinions on who to maybe to or not to use, or who knows more about shipping 928's. Thanks Jack

Intercity hauled my S4 from NorCal to Maine and they were excellent. I remember mentioning to the driver that this was my first Porsche and he took the extra time to show me how to properly close the hood, explained the jump post in front and a few other things.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I've used Intercity four times so far; twice on shipping Porsches (one a 928 GT shipped from MD to AZ).

Very professional and timely on their arrival estimates. Highly recommended.

Default Amerifreight

In February I shipped a Saab from San Diego to Roswell, GA, with Amerifreight.

It was enclosed shipping - something like $950. I think. Maybe a little more.

They're a broker and will post "internally". Anyway, I was very happy with the care the actual carrier took. The car was not terminal'd (some shippers will relay the vehicle via a terminal).

There's ONE web site to go to, however: transportreviews.com

had a 78 shipped from phoenix to newark 2 weeks ago (en route to ireland). went with All State Carriers, guy I dealt with was Richard Sherman (rsherman@asctransport.com)....good guy. cost was $1,150 enclosed. make sure u look up the transport company they get to do the job....they were gonna use a crowd called Alena who had lots of complaints on transportreviews.com. he switched the job to nationwide transport who were good, guy there was a porsche dealer principal back in the day and enthusiastic about the car...i spoke to him a few times while he was on the road. i had the car collected from a local porsche specialist in phoenix (exotic motorwerks) who filmed the pickup and pre-transport inspection for me, same at the newark end by a friend of mine. exotic also wrapped any potential danger areas on the car in plastic....couldn't have been more helpfu...if u havent chosen someone for the PPi u should use them. good luck

ADVICE:

Don't sign for the car until you inspect it for damage. Once you sign for it, they'll laugh in your face when you find the $500 dents and scratches on the roof from the chain they dropped on it. Ask me how I know....
