It makes little difference if the car is supercharged or not braking from 100 mph is the same......How one uses the brakes has a huge impact on fade....hard quick braking causing less heat transfer than smooth longer braking. Like a truck riding the brakes on a long steep hill is far more likely to fade than repeated off and on brake application. In street driving it is really pretty hard to run out of brakes on an S-4 because you would normally be arrested or dead long before you lost the brakes.....

Yep, in fact, I was able to run the S brakes for a couple of near 1 hour SpeedGT races, with absolutely no issues. IN FACT, when i was passed by Derek Bell in his team audi S4turbo, the anouncers said, "and look at the braking capasity of the 928" as his rear view camera caught me in the braking zone. point is, I was using the 928 much harder than is humanly possible on the street, and the S brakes are fine for that too. the next 5 races with them I had the hobert car with S4 brakes. It seemed to be a little better on the modulation and the slight fading I did have , seemed to go away as well. much better brake and pedal feel . In fact, i was able to step back and race Scots car with the S brakes at the end of last season for 3 races, and it was totally up to the task of the near 300 rwhp with no problems. put some HT10s or pagid blacks on there and you are good to go racing!

I do tend to brake hard and get off them, and had it in my mind that day to do just that to try and keep them cool, but again, I could have been dragging them and not known it.

The ones I have put on cars seem to make the pedal feel stiffer if that makes any sense.

STAINLESS BRAKE LINES
Hi Greg - yep, hoping that it does make the pedal stiffer. Just wandering what makes one set sale for $75 and another for double that. Anyone know?

Yep, those are the ones I have. very nice.
Dont think that they will do anything for pedal feel. if they do, youi probably had air in the lines before.

if you are replacing aged oem rubber brake lines the improvement in pedal feel (firmness) can be quite noticeable. The old pipes tend to swell as pressure goes on, giving a squishy feel, much like air in the system.
In my case it looked as though the hose was about to explode just above the banjo fitting.

We sell a very high quality set of SS lines for $75. Teflon (PTFE) with a SS braid to restrain the pressure thrust.
Been selling them for over 3 years with no issues.
Set comes complete with crush rings. These are DOT approved.
They have a PVC cover to protect the line from debris and abrasion.
For an added "Bling" factor the covers are available in different colors.
Company has been building hoses for 25 years and is owned by an ex President of Goodyear hose.
With any hose - rubber or SS braid it is important to check that they do not rub on any suspension parts.
Why pay more?

Rog,
Lets get some pics posted of those lines. Kudos for insuring that there is an insulative layer on the outside of the braid, this is often overlooked (and dangerous).
Thanks,
Hans

You want pictures - next thing you will want me to have a web site - what is this World coming to?
Picture added.

Roger,
Please, no more 928 **** pictures, my wallet is empty!!
Frank,
I would just install a refinshed set of S4 brakes and be done with it. They are nearly as large as GTS brakes and stop really well. A clean, freshly painted set of S4 calipers, cross drilled Zimmerman rotors (w/ painted hats and vent openings) with painted splash shields will be all the bling you need behind 18" or 19" wheels.
My GTS brakes with 18" CIII's and Zimmerman rotors:
