most car seats have that little "angle" finder thing on the side. if the seats not level it won't work as directed in an impact. but most seats have plastic riser on the bottom that will it to be adjusted..

Paco - That's a great idea on incorporating the Latch system. I've never been fully comfortable with the top tether anchor for the same reason you stated.

When the machine shop "modified" the anchor, did they just cut off the sides or did they enlarge the receiver as well. If they just cut the sides off I expect I could do that with a dremel. If the hole in the receiver actually needs to be enlarged to mate up to the Latch anchor, I may have a machine shop do that to make it a nice neat cut.

the machine shop just cut off the sides. there was no need to enlarge the receiver. as long as you cut off the sides so the metal piece is almost flat it should work well.

the anchors worked 'as-is' with our Britax carseat but unfortunately that one doesn't fit in the 928. the Radian's LATCH connectors are just huge.

let me know if you need any more pictures or have any questions on the anchors. happy to help.

i wish we could find a solution for the top tether. that's the only thing that's bugging me and makes me think I should keep trying other car seats until I find one that fits better.

Not sure of the thread and pitch. It his picture it looks like the same one that comes with the kid-safe anchors. They are the right size and thread to fit the stock anchor hole so I neaver measured mine. If no one chimes in I should be able to pull one of the bolts and check it against a die set and get back to you this weekend.

The bolt was the one that came with the kidsafe anchors. I can measure it tomorrow and post some more pictures.
