Chuck, I thought I had seen a GTS in that color once...on your site I am sure! LOVE IT! Also it is a LHD car... I wonder if we could find that and how much trouble it would be to bring in here to the US?!

Stan, I appreciate all your help! What size are the rivets?? And where did you find them?

Anyway... I'll be out in the garage tonight after 5:30 so if you want to stop by. I haven't drilled out those rivets yet... thought I'd let the paint harden a bit more!!! I'm not too anxious to get a drill anywhere near the paint right now!

There is no stock 928 painted arena red in the US. I think there was somebody in the PNW that had a modified 928 they painted arena red but I'm not sure about that. In any case, there is probably only one painted arena red from the factory and your's will be beautiful!!!! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Nice thanks, and thanks for the rivets! They worked perfectly!

I pulled the second head last night... so they're off to napa today. WOOHOO! I'm excited to put that shiny clean motor back into the bay and get her started!

Don't rush it, no need to set a deadline. With the work done to get the engine bay completed, the exterior and complete job should look very very nice. Only when it is time to lay down your Carnuba wax, then can you relax, but this is not something one guy wants to rush (ask me how I know).

I enjoy working alone too and just the thought of your red paint brings inspiration so back at ya and good luck! We like the color!

Regards,

That bay is amazing! Its almost a crime to put an engine in there to obscure the work you've done!

Thanks guys....

I put the bellhousing back in last night, and replaced that little rubber vac hose on top of the torque tube, replaced the alan head bolt that mounts the cable to the bellhousing...

Been busy scrubbing grime off all the engine parts, deciphering the good from bad, and making my list of needed replacement parts. I get the heads back wednesday and I can start putting the motor back together. I have a complete re-seal kit for the engine. The entire intake/cam covers/fuel lines have been powder coated (my avatar), bolts are clean, and cam covers are re-assembled...

Default Updated pics...

Set the engine back into the bay... Have a stuck bolt in the passenger rear cam cover bottom... so it'll get repaired this week, I'll be chasing vaccum, lectrical and fuel lines the rest of the week.

Everything is dusty...

Realized... that the powersteering rack is in the way to tighten the bottom of the motor mounts.. duh.

Gotta love the reflection of the Porsche lettering on the brake booster!

Water Bridge, T stat elbow, and fan mount will be antique gold, just like the cam covers/intake.

This car is going to be WAY BETTER THAN NEW when you are done with it! What a labor of love! It will be a show winner for sure!
