Porsche and OEM are not always the same.
OEM means that at some time the company made the part for Porsche. That could be 30 years ago but still technically true.
I buy the OEM and they do not fit - they fit but need a lot of stretching.
I buy from Porsche and they fit.

$279 for a hood emblem. Holly COW! thanks but i think i'll wait for one under 50 bucks. LOL
OEM and Porsche. I would have never thought there was a difference. "Original equipment manufacturing" should be the real deal. I guess when things come from over seas, such as China and Taiwan it is possible the quality is not the same as German made.
Final note: I have seen some company label boxes with info that is not always true. While i don't know how they get through customs, they still do.
Any who...thanks for the update guys and have a happy holiday!

Hey Phil,
I've been wanting a silver badge for a long time and have yet to see a new one for under $180. Barry (Whitelightening) said he got a good deal on his and I think it was around $95 or so. If you find them for under a hundred, you should probably jump one it. I can't imagine finding a 928 fog light for less than two bills... more like three.

thanks Kurt on the info. While i would love to replace it, i don't actual need a new lens yet.
The silver badges, i guess Porsche decided to obsolete them which caused the badges to sky rocket in price. To think my last 911 had one, and i kept the gold crest that was original on the car on garage shelf.
Realistically, the lens should not cost more than $25 bucks or $50 max. I am surprised no one has started making these in China. Or maybe they have .....$$$$$
