Six hours to go, New bidder today at $10,600. He seems to be a bit indecisive as he has retracted a bid 7 times in the last 6 months. BUT you can retract bid if: "You can’t reach the seller by telephone or email." There are a few other reasons, but this one is pretty much a given with this seller.
The story about ebay verfying his location must have been another well, story. He did not respond to my question about the salvage title.

Spoke to the seller at length a few months ago, he seems like a decent guy who is selling the car for a deceased relative. From what he told me the car had damage to the passenger side (significant enough where at least the door had to be replaced) and the the car was sold to the current owner with a Florida Certificate of Destruction which they transferred over to a SD junk/dismantlers title. Although the sketchy listing and auction activity makes it seem like something isn't on the up and up, the seller actually sent me a copy of the title, in that regard it seems legit. What bothers me though is that the seller says he doesn't have access to the car (I seem to remember him telling me he was a few states away) and that the photos he uses in the ads are several years old.
At $11k and a certificate of destruction, this car doesn't make any sense at all, especially when there's a clean 928 GTS on ebay with records for sale in the mid 20's.

Yea, this car is weird and there does not seem to be much consistency or real info about it. If the damage was only to a door and quarter panel the car would not even get a salvage title let alone a cert of destruction! We need to know what actually happened to this car... Does it even run at all. What does it look like RIGHT NOW, TODAY?! If it ran and the mileage is correct in the mid 50k range then you would assume the engine and tranny are good (no assurance till checked there is not TBF, but it would be unlikely at that mileage) and if that is true then the main drive train components would make the car worth and EASY $5k right there, if not more.
Figure with that window out most of the interior is probably toast and it easily could have impacted the electronics of the car too... that could make fixing things a real PITA! So many questions that need answering. If you did fix it could you even title it?! In what states could you title it? If you can then what kind of inspections would need to be done?

Seems a shame for the family when a seller rides the price wave down to the bottom always asking a bit more than market price that keeps dropping a bit faster.
Worst thing in my mind is that it looks like its had water damage, and depending on if that is true or not the value swings a BUNCH.
Anybody run a carfax on the vin, does it give any more detail?

There is no fixing this car. I'm pretty sure that in at least 48 states (Kentucky and maybe one other?) this car can never be titled again. COD is the end of the road. This is a parts car or track car candidate only. It isn't coming back from the dead. The only question is how low will the price go before someone picks it up for parts.
I wonder at what price it would be interesting for one of the dismantlers.
