If you dig out your old "928 Forum" volume 1 Issue 3..you'll find an article I wrote about the Gnarly 928...
Lots of good stuff in Don's old racer..hopefully it will be resurrected to race once again.....

Three Wheelin'
This is not a big deal to repair and no reason to part out the car.
Just get another block and send it out for nikasil along with the pistons so they can bore to fit, put it back together and enjoy.
I wish my engine problems could have been so easy. I've had a broken valve within hours and a broken piston later on and both required complete teardown along with a bunch of new parts.
This car just needs one part.
Doesn't anyone enjoy working on cars anymore?!

Perhaps, but it could need one part and then blow up, as that is the common trend with strokers. Scares the heck out of me, and I haven't built one yet. Both you and JV have had multiple failure, and I know he is careful and presume you are as well.
This is a very interesting car, and likely quite a deal for the right buyer.

lets face it ,without an engine, a 928 only a $3500 chassis, and a engine, bolt on suspension and cage away from being a race car, and a good one too boot!
