I'm not trying "dig up dirt", but it should be known Andrew Olson ran for office in '08...... and LOST! Gasp!
People of the 928 community, I implore you to reconsider Andrew Olson despite his pasty chest, and vote for him on character. Wait.... no not that.....
Vote for him because it is the right thing to do. Well, maybe no.....
Just vote for him because he is the only nominee. Yea, that's it!
This isn't working (sorry, AO, I tried).
How about this, vote for Andrew Olson because he's a kick a** 928 enthusiast, and a great guy!

Stan,
It is very difficult to say anything constructive without it appearing to be critical of the current regime.
That is not my target, I am just trying to speak out loud and maybe generate some new ideas.
I am with you that a Owner/President of a 928 centric vendor should not hold the rank of President of the OC. To much conflict of interest.
However I have made it loud and clear that I want to be involved as a 928 lover.
OCIC 2009 could not have happened without the involvement of a group of dedicated people – some more than others. The OC board needs more content.
New blood, additional members, new ideas.
The OC needs an injection of new talent to bolster the existing stalwarts on the board.
Someone to ensure the OCIC happens again and again in the future by cajoling key candidates in the community.
Someone to coax more out of the regional leaders.
We already have one gregarious candidate willing to step up to the plate and it is that type of infectious enthusiasm that needs to be promoted.
What do other members feel?????
Roger

Regional leadership - another thing I'd like to bring prominence to. I want people to know who to turn to when inquiring about the OC. It'll be a challenge. I know that. But if I didn't believe I could balance it, I wouldn't volunteer.

I lreally have to wonder how much you know about the 928 OC. Have you ever reviewed the website? The navigation has "Information" and under that "Regional Contacts", the direct link is http://www.928oc.org/regional_information.htm
I really don't know how much clearer it could be, unless we spam 928ers or go door to door.
I am well aware that there is tremendous room for improvement, but so far I am not hearing what will be DONE. I am just hearing ideas.
Who is going to do your newsletter?
What is going to be in it?
Maybe you want to talk to Adam B. about it, he can tell you about the workload, although he was printed.
I would really love for someone to take this one, and improve things, but I will keep re-stating that I have heard many ideas over the years, follow through is what it will take.
For example, I will probably spend 20-30 hours just on handling the nomination and election process. Answering questions, tallying results, etc. It is easy to say you will do something, but I think the time to do so is too often understated.
