Thats what I thought was on another thread in the high 11's on Tims car and someone else had another 928 that was in the area of mid 11's not sure where that post is yet.
The Gtech were high 11's
http://www.murf928.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14
Which is about right as a 7.7 in the 1/8th
7.7/.65=11.85 area.
I use /.65 to convert 1/8 to 1/4mile which usually is close.

The quickest that I've noticed posted so far was 10.90's in the quarter mile as reported by a G-Tech. That was a stock engined S4 that had a modified Murf kit installed on it. There haven't been any 1/4 mile numbers on Todd's car.

What form of "fastest" are you referring to?
Standing mile? (236.61 is the current Porsche record)
Overall top speed? (current record in the 240's if not 250 by now)
Around a given race track? (need to pick a track)
1/4 mile?
0-100-0?
0-150-0?
0-200?
0-200+
Flying Mile?
These are all benchmarks that have been set by various Porsche's already, plenty of data to compare to.

I've asked this before and do not remember the answer.

Sorry I should have been clearer...
I want to be the Fastest Top Speed Porsche..against standard modern Porsches..i.e From Porsche`s figures...which means I have to beat the Carrera GT which has an official top speed of either 205 or 206 mph depending on which country is publishing the figures... and considering that has a V10 and cost £330.000 (UK) , I will be happy if I achieve that for under £20.000 (including the cars cost)
I may go for other records assuming I achieve that one but my time is limited due to my businesses .....

The two runs for Tim's car there that are the high 11's ones are runs where he started slowing down before he got to the 1/4 mile mark. You can see it in the speed graph of the G-Tech results posted there, and see the low trap speeds reported for those two runs. The only run where he stayed foot to the floor for the entire 1/4 mile was that one run showing 11.499@132.59 mph.

I am sorry but I will believe all those figures apart from the 10....
For a 10 you need need to hit the finish at between 140 and 150 mph....
Lets put it this way.....as people here and on Uk forums are always saying to me...prove it lol....a G-tech graph will do or a Time slip...

Maybe the person who made that claim will post some of the evidence that you're asking about. After several years of requests from quite a few people, I don't recall ever seeing any from you.

For just breaking into the 10's as 10.90's mph usually is around 125mph and with turbo or superchrged cars most likely will see higher mph 130+
Just look at alot of 911TT
http://www.dragtimes.com/compare2.ph...ame=Compare%21
The 2007 Evoms went 10.99 at 127mph
http://www.dragtimes.com/Porsche-911...lip-11233.html
The 2010 is even quicker going 10.70's
Tim's car going 132+mph if had the traction and gearing would be well in the 10's.It has the horsepower and mph its just the gearing, traction isn't setup like a drag car and alot of ET is lost from the start.
Like someone else mentioned too many runs if it was setup would be hard of the shafts.
Would like to see Tim's car with a good of slicks my guess it would be in the 10's

You're the one questioning a performance claim that someone made on here, even though it's not really that much higher than others that have already been documented?
Maybe the person who made that claim will post some of the evidence that you're asking about. After several years of requests from quite a few people, I don't recall ever seeing any from you.

Thats precisely my point...for years i have been asked to prove times etc...
It doesn't apply to others in this thread ???
With my history in drag racing I "know" what it takes to make a 10....and I seriously doubt ANY 928 (certainly not mine by the way) will EVER do it....
The fastest time I have seen an ACTUAL time slip for is a 12.4 I seem to remember..... to drop 2 seconds off that is well nigh impossible...
Unless you have a time slip to prove otherwise ?

The upgraded McLaren F1 does a 1/4 mile in 10.1 at 144 mph. The old car I recall was high 10s and in the low 130s. Gearing plays a big part in these times.

nope, its torque at the rear wheels (aka HP) .
torque doesnt mean a hill of beans, unless you have a rpm attached to it.
acceleration=Power/(mass x velocity)

Hi Greg
You are right and it proves my point...a 928 has NOT got the correct gearing , or traction control for the launch and is a LOT heavier...
I spent 10 years Drag racing professionally and have built cars and engines that will run 10s and 9s and 8s and 7s etc etc...
A friend of mine has an MGB with a Rover V8 plus Nitrous that runs 10s... it took him YEARS to do it and its a stripped down race car (not road legal) and weighs about half of a 928....

You want to have the quickest 928? You will need one to run in the 7's:

This is very sad. Have you tried NOS?
Hi
This may well be my final post on Rennlist and also I may well not pay to resubscribe again...
What do I do I do about a Moderator who not only abused me in a thread but also kept reopening that thread once I has closed it due to the abuse from him and other users ?
I kept closing the thread and then the Moderator took over the first post in HIS name so I could no longer close the thread....
My only option was to delete all my posts and I wouldnt bet that they wont reappear again due to the same moderator
So what does Rennlist do about a Moderator who abuses his powers ?
And yes I have already notified another Moderator in the 928 Forum about all of this and was totally ignored......

I prescribe for you this: You just need another 928. Park the NOS unit and the schtik. Start fresh. Maybe an early car, 5 speed. Pure and fun. Ride the countryside. Take in the scenery. Relax. Fastest is not all its cracked up to be, anyway.
You are a 928'r. You need more.
