Default So I looked at the Andy Keel'ed SC car off Craigslist today...

...and I bought it! It's a great car. Thanks to Gary for posting. A nice fellow owned it--he is longtime buddies with Andy and let Andy do all of the work on the car. He didn't know much about 928s, but got persuaded into the toy by Andy. I *think* the issue mentioned in the ad is a roasted transmission. The owner just had no technical knowledge on 928's and wanted to get rid of it. No head gasket issues that I noticed from a quick inspection and drive.

It has been maintained very well--all of the tools are in the tool kit, spare is still there, air compressor, great carpet, etc. etc. It just needs some TLC to be back to its former glory. It also has a squirter block! So what am I doing with it? Well, I was going to part it, but seeing how nice it is, I will probably do the following:

Sell the full supercharger kit with intercooler (PM me if interested)
Sell the x-pipe and hi-flow cats (PM me)

then install a rebuilt transmission (have one sitting in my shop), reinstall the intake and other removed parts after the SC (and otherwise return it to stock), and spend a couple hundred hours returning it to the condition it deserves to be. Then... sell it! I would feel bad parting it out considering how nice it is. It has ~230,xxx miles on most parts, but in all honesty, it looks better than the 90,xxx mile and 83,xxx mile cars that I have in my shop. I'll get some photos soon, and I will try to periodically update this thread as I "refresh" the car.

Cool. I think this was discussed here, and I was hoping someone would save it. Some seemed to feel that is was just good for parts, but I suspect that 90% of that was just a clueless seller.

If anyone in San Diego buys the supercharger, let me know. I have a fair amount of experience.
