Default A "Andy Keel" SC'd '87 for sale in GA

The car looks pretty rough ("tranny may have issues, may have blown head gasket"), but someone could get some free SC pieces if they want to part out the car...

I love the "may need head gaskets" Coming from a supercharged engine that wasn't designed to be boosted. Yeah I would say they are toast!

$4.5k needing headgasket and transmission work? I agree, not really a good deal even for a SC 928.

My thought is that the blower setup is worth the asking price. The car is kinda a bonus. If you don't want this particular blower then it is less than a great deal. I understand that the kit was a little rough, but primary option is the Murph kit, which (as I recall) is more than this car, and (as I understand) makes power more at the top end and less on the bottom end compared to this.

I thought you meant smokin' from the bad head gasket.

I forgot to add, this is a KILLER deal for someone looking to part the car. I wish I had the cash laying around. Probably RED will go for it?

A twin screw would have boost from the get go all the way to redline, not just top end On a built motor with forged piston's and proper head gaskets as long as you had a good IC the motor would be a beast. A twin screw likes to be boosted over 15lbs to low 20's. That's when you see what they can do. Running a TS at 5lbs is a joke if you have ever driven one at proper boost levels and tuned well. They weren't designed for low boost. The blower has to be worth at least 1500 and if you wanted to put a blower on a stock 928 engine you could save a lot of money and buy a M112 for 300 bucks.

You haven't been here long Do a search for the twinscrew thread

As for the stock bottom end - the bottom end of an S4 is good for boost with stock internals and compression (pistons, rods, crank etc.).

That's silly. Boost pressure is relative and different for every car and forced induction type. My SAAB makes 26psi and pushes 120hp/liter. My 928 makes 8psi and pushes 100hp/liter. 8psi is a lot (relatively) for the 32-valve 928 engine. I have an M112 on my car right now and it is pretty much maxed out at 8.5psi (running 15k RPM near redline). This TS blower would be an upgrade

I may make this guy an offer... although I don't fancy parting a car out and don't really have the space for it

Lots of "what ifs" on this one. Tranny could be shot, motor needs work who knows the blower could have bad bearings. These are the most valuable items on the car.

Forget it - the rear hatch release doesn't work.
