Installing pod: what's the trick for aligning right side...

this is easier of you remove the gauge cluster then fit the pod in its correct position then align the ignition switch side standoff where it sits. Then remove the pod and tighten the long bolt so it holds the standoff in position this might take a few test fits.
Then with the gauges fitted to the harnesses,
tilt the pod onto your knees and connect the rheostats then flip the pod up and slide the gauges onto the right side fittings then slide the left side under the pod it helps to have the rubber/ metal standoffs positioned into the gauge cluster on the left side.
then fit the turn switch,
then put the 2 rear pod bolts in then the fronts

Thanks.
After I posted, I had another look at the WSM, and realized that the right side gets mounted to the cluster first, then installed onto the column. I totally forgot that it cama apart that way.
Good news: tach works now. I found several screws on the pcb that were not even close to being driven in. I guess a tech set them in, but forgot to drive them in.
Bad news: steering column switch won't lock down tight, swivels around the column now, was tight before I uninstalled. And fuel meter stays pegged now, too.

Pod installation
GTS: I'm in an evil place since July on this, events conspire to keep this from happening, everything from junk ign switch, hurricane, other time demands. So I have completely forgotten how it came apart. I have Schocki's tutorial with pics, but am lost as to what goes where on the right side. I have the cluster re-connected, and the left long bolt that secures cluster to the pod started. But it appears the right side should have been done first. Can anyone confirm this hopefully with pics? (Add camera malfunction to above list.) I believe I have the correct left bolt and bracket in place, but I have two brackets remaining and one long bolt that goes up through what Merlin is calling the standoffs (the rubber shocks at the top and bottom on each side of the cluster).
I will take pics (for people like me ) when I go back at it again, but it would help if I knew what I was doing at the outset.

I just took off my pod to upgrade to LED's and it is not so hard. There are only 4 bolts holding it on. Hardest part is disconnecting all the pod switches. Do a search using "pod removal". Dwayne and as I remember MFry have excellent write ups with many pics.

So as not to hijack this thread, I have updated my "Ignition switch" thread. The update in the link below morphs from ignition switch problem, into possible relays and a discrepancy I found there betw my chart and DRs chart.
