Default i need one of these...

this little plastic piece that screws on to the steering wheel. The tab resets the blinker. My blinker isn't resetting and it looks like this tab may have been longer. I'm guessing a small piece broke off.
anyone have one they can part with? if so... let me know.
thanks

Sometimes you can solve the non-resetting blinker issue by heating the tab on that ring a little at the base and bending it outward a little bit.

Throw a couple of wraps of electrician tape around the tab. Usually fixes the blinker.

I would also check the upper steering shaft bearing from the looks of the plastic tab its been wearing down this is due to a failing upper shaft bearing if the shaft can move sideways its time to replace this bearing.
If you can get a helper and a good shop vacuum use the vacuum to suck out the bearings so they dont fall down the shaft housing .
the metal that the bearing is made of is very brittle and thus it shatters when its pried on and the ***** should be able to be sucked out of the bearing as it breaks apart

Didn't think this would work, but it did for me.

Unfortunately that trick didn't work for me. That's why I thought maybe the tip of the tab broke off or something. I tried electrical tape & duct tape. No workie. Actually, the electrical tape worked for about 5 minutes, then stopped working.
I'll try the heat gun next per Karl's suggestion.
I hope it's not the bearing issue that Mrmerlin is talking about. That sounds like a PITA. I guess I need to examine closer.

this worked! the tape didn't work, but using a heat gun and bending the tab out a little bit did. thanks for the tip and the quick fix.
