Default Worst injuries sustained while working on 928?

I was wondering what kind of damage you guys have done to yourselves while working on these things. So far mine has been limited to jabbing a piece of thick wire under my fingernail while trying to bend it with pliers so it would work as a clutch shim. Pictures would be nice for the grusomes sake.

Pulling on something ( can't remember what ) with a pair of large needle nose pliers and slipped..hit me straight in the face. Bloody lip and I lost consciousness for a slip second. That's right...I'm man enough to admit it. After it was over it was funny.

Maybe not the worst but the most memorable, which caused a new rule to be created for my garage:

No working under the car past midnight.

This is because while changing rod bearings I fell asleep. When I woke up I sat straight up.....head meet crankshaft.

I burnt my ankle bumping up against a running buffer wheel and sprayed brake clean into an open cut. Oh yeah and that was just last night. Lot’s of cuts, bruises and a few blood blisters, but never required medical attention... nothing little beer, superglue, and/or duct tape couldn't handle.

Worst injury to the car has to be letting brand new Porken bars fall on it car while unboxing them, followed up by cracking rear tail light with trash can (that was last week), followed by not pulling in far enough and scratching the nose with the garage door.

That’s about it.

Typical bruised knuckles and scrapes for me, but - not an injury, per se - I did light a friend's 928 on fire... I had changed out ISV and some hoses and seals on his S3 (which used to be mine). When I went to restart it, the engine caught on fire. Still not sure why, though his mechanic said that he found a loose fuel rail hose... I had checked for leaks and found none before trying to start it.

Anyway, we got it put out pretty quickly. I paid his deductible, and he got new paint (which he needed anyway), a new engine harness, a new alternator, and a few other new parts. Overall, not the worst outcome, though I wish he had had a lower deductible.

I have busted knuckles and bruised ribs and arms and legs. I have dropped things on my toes (harmonic balancer) and dropped an impact wrench on my face from a full arm reach away(Yeah, yeah that's what's the matter with with it) but by far the worst injury I've ever had is something that we all have faced:

The Bent and Sometimes Broken Wallet Syndrome. That can be life-time damaging. I can remember at least once the time I really wanted that Supercharger/Turbo system and reached into my back pocket and just screamed with pain. It is just the worst agonizing pain!

A root-cause analysis would have resulted in the new rule being 'no drinking while working on the car'...

I guess because I've been welding for the last 45 years, I'm used to wearing gloves to work in. So no bumps or cuts. But I've burnt the hell out of myself more times than I can count. Hot oil, cats, etc.

Well.....I'm not the only one!!
I fell asleep under the car when I was doing transmission work.
The dogs woke me up licking my face, of course I had the head-jerk reaction which had my forehead kissing the trans pan.
Nothing like waking up to a dog looking at you with that stupid look on their face!!

I was under my 914 when the fuel lines came apart right above my head. I turned my head so as not to get the gas in my eyes, but it went in my ear. Worst pain I have felt in my life. Like getting hit with a big hammer in your ear.
