Comparing 928 to a C4 vette maint wise.
Can anyone give me an idea of what the maintenance cost would be between a 928 and a C4 Corvette. Just something general, I know the condition of both would matter, but figure they were both maintained in general.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Which 928 and which C4?
Are you talking about a 78 VS a LT4 Corvette or maybe a 84 Crossfire, or are you talking about a 95 GTS VS a 95 ZR1, because that is the only fair comparison, both are DOHC 32 valve engines.
I have a 87 C4 and a 87 928, and over all MY 928 needs more work to drive the same miles.

Burning Brakes
I've calculate my 928 cost me $3.00 per mile maintenance @ (1000 miles) not including gas this last year. Is that good???

So Greg, what would you recommend as a good year/engine for a C4? I've been thinking about picking one up as a daily driver because they are cheap to run and my brother is really pushing me on it - he sold his '71 454 and is now resurrecting a '76 basket case and turning it into a sleeper. I really prefer the later ZR-1/style body and a decent manual transmission - did they ever get rid of that skip shift?

I would be afraid to say how many $$$$$/miles my ratio is. I have not driven either of my cars this past year but have spent a penny or two on them...

The L98 cars have head gasket issues, the LT1 and 4's have Opti-spark issues, but like any car, it is all about condition.
If I were to buy another C4 it would be a 93 or up, but that is just me.

I have heard the Crossfire cars were junk, I think that was 1984 MY.
I like the C4, they are sharp, cheap now and easy to run.
I love the C3 body style, but they are real uncomfortable to drive IMO..........feels like the engine rides shotgun in the passenger seat!!
