Default DFW Monthly GTG 5th June

Hi Y’all,
Update on the plans for the 5th.
By popular demand we will be visiting “Cars and Coffee” at 8.30am. http://dallas.carsandcoffee.info/
We will all meet at 8.00am in the large car park next to and North of McDonalds at 6001 West Parker Road, Plano 75093, so we can caravan into the Cars and Coffee car park.
928sRus will be providing donuts at C&C for breakfast and coffee will be available at the venue.
We will leave the car park at 8.25am.

After C&C we will meet at a restaurant for Brunch between 10.30am and 11.00am. This will be a good time for those out of town visitors to join us.
I am suggesting Andrew’s unless there are other suggestions.
Once agreed I will update with the address.

In the afternoon we will have a Tech Session at Brad’s Garage.

Loren the ace detailing guy will be there for those of you who would like his services.
His charges are as follows : -
wash, vacuum, wheels and tires, door jams, windows are $30.00
full interior cleaning and conditioning with a wash service $85.00
full service detailing with polishing of the exterior and full interior cleaning $ 135.00
If the guys would like the motors cleaned i do that as well for an additional $25.00
Loren needs to know in advance who and what needs doing so please contact me for a booking. These will fill up fast so do not delay.

Looking for suggestions for the tech session please?????
Be there or be square.
Roger

I still have some Delrin rack bushings to install, as well as rear poly swaybar bushings. I suspect you've already demonstrated the former, but perhaps not the latter.

Anyway, it's still yet to be determined if I can make it. My dad's birthday is the 6th, but we may celebrate it a day early. Should know this week if I can make it.

I will be there. The best gather of 928s, bar-none.

We could do my dash R&R I've only been waiting for FIVE MONTHS. This really would be a tech session, cause it's not something commonly done, and I don't know how to do it. furthermore, if we don't finish it, the car can stay at Brads, and I can 'exercise' one of the 928sRUS stable.

I will not be at the Cars and Coffee. I will be at the brunch no matter where we decide to have it.

Sean, I would be happy to help you with your torque tube.

Jarrod, Delrin bushings will make quite a difference and can easily be done that day. Poly rear sway bushings? I dunno how long that would take, but I would happy to help.

Doc, there are only 3 bolts in the steering column and 4 bolt/screws to take out the dash. It's just the stuff leading up to those 7 that are a PITA. Happy to help.

How about windscreen washer R & R? Most folk could use that.
or
how about HVAC R & R? It's that time of the year.

Is Brad aware that we are planning a Tech Session at his shop?

I'll be happy to teach anyone how to do the HVAC relay repair, but as we've seen, some people ^^^^^ are not to be trusted with solder and a 40000 watt gun that is hotter than the surface of the sun.

Any chance you could bring freon? Ugh.... no A/C and it's getting that time of year......

I'll be there. Maybe sweating like a maniac if I don't get some freon, but I'll be there

OK OK I admit it. I am seriously dangerous with a solder gun

Come to think of it, I am pretty damn dangerous with a wrench, a screwdriver, and oh, especially an impact wrench. Someone would have to be insane to hand me an impact wrench.

We will need to find out what happened to the freon that was supposed to be in your system already, but there is a local supplier that has freon.

About every 2-3 years I have to refill. System works fine otherwise. Gotta be a pretty slow leak to hold out that long I would think. Dunno, haven't torn into it; all voodoo to me.

I'll be there for all of it. I also need to change my motor mounts. With the lift we could knock them out in about 2-3 hours.
