Default rear seat year model interchangability

Are rear seats interchangable between all year models or are there year model groupings for compatability?

Thanks
Jim

The pivot point and mounting around the pivot are a little different on between later and earlier. Not sure when the cut off is, but as data points: 78-82 = early, 88=late. I suspect that you could move the hardware from early to late or vise versa and cross use them.

I'll be putting S4 rear seats in my 84S later this summer. I'll post the results up when I get around to it.

I would like to know the answer, too!

Tunnel on S4 is a little wider than S to accomodate the larger diameter torque convertor.

I know this from trying to cram an S4 drivetrain into the S.
