I am going to try to hand paint some center caps using the small bottles of touch up paint you can get from a auto parts store.
Does any body have any color suggestions?
I am sure I will screw them up and end up buying new ones, but i am going to try.

Well it's not Dwayne, but here's what I did and used, and the color scheme is correct: http://reutterwerk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18913
Also, here are some more examples: http://www.wheelenhancement.com/index.php?t=AccCaps

thanks Ed, that is exactly the kind of help I was looking for.

We use these sorts of things on some of our products, and I really like the control it gives you. Never been much good with little brushes.

Not sure if we use oil or water based. There are other good brands than Sharpie, that give other color choices.

make sure that whatever you use for the paint is compatable with the clear coat overspray, otherwise the clearcoat will lift off the colors. I used enamal - which is oil based I believe, and the clear coat worked fine.

Clear Red from Tamiya or Testors is a dead ringer for the read on the hood crest.
It allows the gold to show through a bit giving it a candy color.

I like paint pens (see your local craft store) for the red and black, very easy to control. But first, I spray on a layer of Design Master 24K Gold - it's a very good product, and I say that based on experience using real gold leaf (not the "dust" on a plastic base, but pure 24K gold in sheets - among other things did a Velocette tank, not the one in my avatar but my KSS for you Brit bike boffins, with it). After that sets it is easy to overlay the red and black with the pens. Acrylic clear coat on top, but be sure the first coats have thoroughly set - give it a half day at normal temps - and it looks very good I think.
