Just saw the car he bought, the price went up to $1376.98.

<sigh> Yes. On an S3 motor they ARE rubber washers that you can get anywhere. This is not the case for S4+ motors. Note that the title of this thread contains "'89."

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. And the root cause of 90% of the caused-by-wrenching problems I see on 928s are the result of a little knowledge and a lot of "I want to find the cheapest and quickest way possible to get this car out of here."

Angela,
Considering that I will be driving it across the desert ( I know, with a horse with no name...) it came to me in a vision last night. El Diablo. Fitting would'nt you say?

I was working on a 928 that had just had the cam covers repainted, he replaced the gaskets but hot the plug o-rings, it ruined the paint in short order.

I know you Dave, if you do it it is going to get what it needs, all of what it needs or you are not going to do it.

El Diablo might be good, but I wouldn't chance naming her that until AFTER she got you through the desert and home safely

Doesn't bringing out the Llama usually require a mention of turbo vs. supercharging or something like a venturi?
