Since some one asked , a couple more ....Mark I moved the fenders out two inches on each side a few years ago. Then added 4 inches to the carbon fiber hood and 4 inches to the glass "S-4" front cover. The rear GTS 1/4 s were then too narrow so added some flair , easy as they are glass 1/4s. The rear "wing" is a modified Mustang unit added only because my Son in Law likes big wingy things...... The big hood vent has been marked out on the hood for years just never got around to cutting it out. As it still has a belt driven fan it should get some thrust

jim, what is the plan for paint? are you doing all the priming with rattle cans, or are they all just patch work? then, off to miracle for a quick mask and blast? I heard the water based paints now are junk. anyway to get the "good stuff" on the black market and find a spray booth or make one and do it yourself???

awesome work ken. how bout sharing that form for that splitter?
I have a rather sophomoric cardboard template, but I would be willing to part with it if someone could draw this in CAD and make it available.

I thought I would post the inital experience with the vent. I am headed to the track and will give you a complete update when I get back but the first impression is remarkable.
I went out last night and bedded a new set of pads and rotors so several
hard pulls later, the guage had not moved above the first hash mark !!!
My gauge usually runs dead in the middle. I cruised around for another half hour and the car continued to run ultra cool. When I got back in, I shot the upper radiator hose with my pyrometer and it was 158 degrees.
NICE !!!
The other odd thing is that the car is quieter....less wind noise?
Here are some final pics before I head off to Mid Ohio.

Color match would be cool. I like that pic mark. I like the simplicity of the vent. Way cool! I want one. Maybe when I get done doing some stuff that takes a priority. I will just add it to a very long list of stuff.

Everyone that I've polled who saw the car in person said leave it black.
So..........maybe for next year after some more walking around it.
The bottom line for me is that it seems to be working very well and some of that credit goes to the baffles that I made on the high pressure side of the radiator.

Very clean, and most important: functional. I hope it tests out at Mid-Ohio for you.
My personal color vote is leave it black. The bumper beading, fog light surround, headlamp washers, and S chin spoiler are all black. It works for me.

you dont need all that plastic sheeting. the air will flow to differential pressure, and at the front the air will move through the radiator due to the pressure of near .2psi, at high speed, but the real issue is leakage to the sides of the bumper shocks and downward. (clear path to sides and under car, but there is enough pressure in front of the radiator to induce flow.). also, you dont need to have that rickity plastic behind the supercharger. its doesnt do anything either. the actually, you want any and all higher pressure air to vent upward, even if some of the underhood air can make it rearward, which it will. you can measure this with tufts and "Under-hood-Cam" .
Personally, I think it would look good painted red, but it would be a big hassle to do so, and black doesnt look that bad.

The bottom piece is to fill a gap that there was between the front of the spoiler and the lower radiator core support. I believe air was spilling over the front of the spoiler into this opening and under the car. Now it has to go through the radiator.
The upper pieces are to keep the air driving to the core. Most of the articles I have read talk about the huge increase in cooling effeciency with properly designed cowling for the radiators.
You'll notice I even have a piece of foam in place where the head lamp arm swings through.

Ken
