Mark Anderson only knows of only one other person who has ever done this besides me, himself!

That's interesting. Looks to me like you can see the stress riser in the before picture right where it broke. I wonder if machining that out of there would have eliminated the failure?

Jerry,
I think the first picture is of the two halves put together to show the complete unit.

Owie- How hard did you bounce off the rev limiter when that happened?

It looks like that shaft isn't stepped down ( fillet radius ) enough after the splines. That is a common failure mode when the shaft doesn't step down enough. I've had this happen many times in hydraulic pumps/motors.

That's what happens when you build one of them monster motors with ITB and develop all that HP. When do you think you going to get fixed and get back to the track again? Send me some dates you plan on racing again, would like to come out and support.

How much power is that bad boy making? What have you done to the motor, sounds like a stroker!
I just checked your avatar, it must be the 80!

Thanks Roger. I suppose that is the ultimate stress riser--one that goes all the way through.

Naw that will buff right out...with a bit of JB weld too

Big torque, big tires = SNAP.... If it becomes more of a problem I'm sure you could get one made out of a stronger material...of course the up front $$$$ is huge to fix such a rare problem
