Default Performance auto transmission filter 87 on

I was doing a service on an 1987 Auto trans and found this filter. It has a sliding unit with seals at each end, front and back .
When the car is braked the slider moves forward to open the part of the filter that has the most fluid then when accelerating the slider moves to the rear to open the rear portion of the filter so to keep the trans from losing its fluid supply.
Roger has them about 45.00.
The part number on the filter is top line
126 277 08 95
next line is
67 002 54 156

This might be a good upgrade for the racer guys with auto transmissions

Do you have one in current use? Is there really a difference?

Same questions and does it have the same change interval as OEM?

I don't see any advantage in that design. The fluid reservoir is located higher than the pan and the proper fuild level is also higher, so there should be no air space within the pan to permit transmission fluids to slosh around.

I suppose that this filter could also be fitted to vehicles that are used off road that use the MB filter gravity would keep the slider open where the fluid would be. Note this is a MB part
