Default Trouble in Shark Land

I can't help but notice all the woes of our fellow shark owners. Is it just me or are our cars not recovering from a long winters sleep? I own a 1983 S w/ 4sp auto. Well my car is bleeding out, tranny fluid all over the garage floor. Has anyone had this problem and what might I look for. It appears to be coming from the speedometer cable housing.

The torque convertor leaks out fluid and the trans level gets too high as stated it NEEDS to be driven or at least started and run once in a while to fill up the convertor.......and yes these are OLD cars now so more and more things need attention.

Could it be coming from the Bowden cable on the passenger side of the transmission? One of the professionals on this board, maybe its was Greg Brown, commented about that being a common source of leaks.

If so, fairly quick and simple fix with the right O-ring.

(Not to discount what's said above / they are getting older / we will see more transmission rebuilds in the future, etc..)

After you have been around a while you will see this pattern repeats itself every spring.

When summer gets here you will see increased complaints/threads about the AC.

When winter gets here everyone is complaining about the car warming up too slow and not as smooth for the first few minutes.

After over 15 years of doing 928 tech support, you don't need a calendar or even need to look outside to know when the seasons change. :-)

Thanks everyone. I'll top off the tranny fluid and take the car for a drive. I guess land sharks are like water sharks they need to keep moving to stay alive. If anyone is interested in a polished intake spider I will being doing 3 sets 2 of which I plan to sell, pics to come soon.
