ATF leak when when in storage
Hi
when i put the car away for the winther (6 months) , it usually loose some ATF from the gearbox. last year i renewed the rubber seal in the lid, but that didn't help, where should i look for the leak ?

Mads I have read here that the storage leak is caused by the Torque Converter draining back in to the system and over flowing the Fill bottle; the fix was to replace the rubber seal on the lid.
But you did that. Sorry I don’t know where else to point you to.

There are 3 location where the reservoir may leak : the cap or lid has a gasket, where the res. pipe joins the transmission pan there's a O ring and on top of the res. there's a small hose.
I'd check all 3 clean up the area and ensure the level is correct, car running, in netural, warm.

It's normal, or if not normal, occurs to most 928s.
When the car sits for more than a week or so the trans fluid residing in the torque converter seeps back into the transmission causing the fluid level within the trans to rise and then ultimately leak out thru the vent hole at the top of the trans.
