He has not "fixed" anything. He drove it from Sean's place in Denton (near D/FW) to Austin and then it started acting up and leaking a bit of oil...well, more than a bit, but maybe it is down to a bit now...

New rotor and cap didn't get it started either.

Is this an alarm-equipped car?

That is a good thought and easy enough to try... Just lock the car with the key and then unlock it with the key... can't hurt to try that.

Yes, if you mean the that thing that goes off for 20 seconds and makes an annoying sound that blares when I open the door or hood. ;-)

After locking and unlocking...the car sounded like it was really trying to start. I think it may be flooded. I'll try again in a little bit. We'll see.

Thanks Landseer and James.

Brian:
If it is a factory anti-theft it does a good bit more than that. I suggest you try disconnecting the battery for a reset of evil spirits (they don't go away, but it pacifies them... sometimes).

Will do.

Thanks.

I think it's still flooded.

They didn't leave your car w/ CIS injection I don't think did they? I didn't think anything but the CIS cars were prone to flooding...

Who knows! I'm just gonna try it in the morning! The frustration is mounting.

If the alarm box disabled ignition but not FI and the engine speed signal, there's a good chance it is flooded.

Still no spark with a new cap and rotor. Any more suggestions?

Yes. Put a single jumper on the fuel pump, a Y-jumper on the injection relay and try it.
PM me if you want to talk about it.
