Missed this thread.....

The oil was full when it left here with no spots of oil the month I had it so loosing that much oil concerns me. The car only had 50 miles put on it after I got it running, and if I remember the car had been sitting for many years before this.

As of tonight, we know the fuel pumps are running, and it does have spark. The video Brian sent me of it cranking over sounds pretty slow. I asked if the fuel pumps ran as he was cranking it, but have not received a response yet. I do know he jumpered the FP and then tried to start, but got nothing.

**just rewatched the vid, it's cranking over fine.

first step clean the ground strap and all of the fuses.

then inspect the rear cam cover gaskets for leaks this is the most likely place for oil leaks, a rear main wont leak much oil but a cam cover will

I'll start cleaning all the relays and fuses now and see what happens.

Brian, I don't think I printed a list out for you, but go here https://www.928gt.com/default5.htm and print out the fuse and relay chart. It will help.

I already have that printed. After cleaning the fuses and relays, I got the same result.
NO SPARK.

Thanks.

This could also be an ignition switch, it felt pretty loose to me. I'm looking for other ideas too.

Check the connections at the ignition coil, and the coil wire also.

Check and make sure that the dist cap is seated fully on the distributor too.

These things seem to need round after round of sorting during resurrection, so steel yourself, Brian, and sort through it each time. It will be worth it.

If it were very easy, they'd rarely change hands.

All the initial signs seem positive on yours. Keep the faith, work thru and become a resource.

I hooked the coil wire to a plug and had the wife turn it over and there was a spark there.

only 1 spark?
Was it big, or very weak.

Green wire?

Sean, the car had not sat very long as it had an inspection sticker and registration sticker that were not even a year out of date...so it MIGHT have sat for a year, but not much more than that.

Weak. Why?

There is a new green wire and I double checked the connection.

I also tried a new distributor rotor to no avail. Maybe a new distributor cap?

if your getting spark from the coil then its either the cap or rotor, are you sure you have the correct cap and rotor set??
What was the last thing that you fixed??

I'll try a new cap next and let you know in about 30 minutes.
