try to press the female portion of the push on contacts together. clean off all of the oil and slip it on

On a similar note, how do you disconnect that thing? Do you have to twist or press it? I tried to disconnect it at the last oil change and it didn't budge. I didn't want to break it so I left it alone.

It pulls straight off the contacts. One of the pins is slightly smaller than the other, so use care when reinstalling, else risk expanding the smaller female connector.

What year did they start using that plug? I just changed the sender on my '88, and it uses one spade lug and one screw on terminal.
By the way, IIRC, I once saw Nephew in Roskilde. Nice town.

Carefully heat the rubber connector to make it more pliable for both removal and reinstallation. If it's falling off, it probably was not put back on all the way. Pulling it off without heating can damage the wires which are frail.
