I have found 10 cars with XC1, 1989 only.
9 of them as XB4, the remaining has XB2.

Only one car with XX9. It's a 1991 S4 delivered in the USA.

I know a 1991 S4 that has a GTS look from factory.
Can someone confirm that the XG8 option code is GTS look?
In this thread there a few examples of the XC1 and the XB4 options. I had the impression that these options were only offered in Germany, but there is RHD car withe the XC1 option. I also find it hard to believe that there are only 10 cars with the XC1 option.

In this thread there is a verified example of a 1991 GT (WP0ZZZ92ZMS800579) with the XX9 option code. The car was delivered from Porsche in 1991, although the MY code my show something else.

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/525061-factory-one-off-gts-body-91-ny-autoshow.html

Here we know for certain that there are at least 2 cars with the XX9 option.

As noted by Ragnar, in the end of the thread about XC1 - found here I posted a picture of a RHD car.

I heard back from the current owner in Belgium and the VIN is:

hi, vin is wpozzz92zks840975

The VIN doesn't appear to have the XC1 option code, but the car definitely has these Exclusive rear arches.

So you found something which identifies them. Excellent.

About special fenders. Porsche had at least one front fender spare around back in 2002. At the time no one knew what it was for.

As I told you previously, the X codes start during the 1989 model year, but an older car certainly has a 09991 code.
I'm sure your car is one of the three 1989 XC1 GT:
WP0ZZZ92ZKS841784
WP0ZZZ92ZKS842157
WP0ZZZ92ZKS842374
All delivered in Germany.

The others cars are S4 delivered in Germany, Japan and one in Sweden.

WP0ZZZ92ZMS800579 has not the option code XC1 listed:
XC7
XD4
XG8
XX8
X08
058
139
340
418
474
538
567
650
690
980

I think this is the XG8 that indicates the GTS rear flares.
I say this because the S4 I know (WP0ZZZ92ZMS801406) has only this option has an X option:
XG8
139
340
650
980

There are 192 cars with XG8 option, 70 in 1990 MY, 122 in 1991 MY.

In know its OT to the thread, but would one of you connected computer guys do me a favor and run this VIN?

It should have factory leather and factory spoiler delete and LSD, but the option sticker doesn't seem to show it.

Thanks Nicole. I meant real photo (of a prototype) vs. an artist rendering. Thanks, I now have seen a "real one".

That is a '91 VIN...so, not sure what you are talking about... THe "M" indicated '91, "N" is '92, they didn't use "O" or "P" but "R" is '94...

All ROW models it seems. In any case many of them. It would be interesting to study one closely and see if they are exactly same as normal GTS or did Porsche do them differently.

This car is currently for sale in Germnay:

http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/sh...g=&tabNumber=2

Asking price is EUR 11,900, equal to USD 14,200.

It shows as a 1987, although the mods are supposed to be available in 1988-89 only. Furthermore the CS wheels are also known as being available for 1988-89 only. Another detail is the door speakers. Are there any door speakers ?

Door panels are probably old style versions. Same old setup was used in some '87 S4 which had only basic radio or none at all and in some '88 CS, possibly '89 CS also.
