Default Limited edition 928?

Hello,

I would like to know what "limited edition" model you know and how to identify it?

So far, here are the ones I know:
- 928 Jubilé (1982, Euro only, option code 406): 140 made
- 928 Weissach (1982, US only, option code 462): 200 made
- 928 Kenwood (1984, France only, specific option codes) 6 made
- 928 S4 SE (1988, UK only, manual car with specific option codes): 42 made
- 928 CS (1988/1989, Euro+US, option code 637): 19 made

Thank you in advance.

Samuel

Was CS the one Porsche gave to F1 drivers? I read about that recently in a magazine ...

The CS, complete name 928 S4 Club-Sport, was a lightweight edition with specific rims, camshafts, gearbox and ECU.

Four "preproduction" cars were given to Porsche factory drivers in 1986/1987.
Is it this you are reffering to?

The SE, real name 928 S4 Sport-Equipment, is a limited edition made for the UK only, with the same mechanical modifications as the CS, but a specific inside. In fact, it was only possible to change to outside color (silver, red, black or white).

According to that wiki page the GTE weighed in ia 2600 lbs with the high end lux interior, so it isn't stripped. Where did all the weight loss come from the standard GT weighs in excess of 3500?

Was it ever determined definitively whether or not this car is real? Personally, I wasn't convinced Porsche actually built this one.......

I agree with you Chuck, and there is NO WAY that car weighed 2600#...NONE OF THEM! My completely stripped out race car with ultralight doors and fenders and lexan for glass is barely 2600# dry!

The 942 - I guess it qualifies as a limited edition 928.
