Default Shorty Headers. Comments?

Found these when trawling the net for 928 related items.

www.pacesetterparts.com/home.php?cat=351

They look well enough made and are a good price.
I am not familiar with the concept of "shorty" headers but
they appear to be a direct replacement for the factory headers
so should connect right up to the stock exhaust pipes.
Does anyone have any experience of these headers
or any comments/ opinions.

That would be dirt cheap if it's legit. Check out the port spacing in the picture....looks like small block chevy to me. I know these places like to use a generic picture to represent all the models but given the low production numbers, I would be surprised if they actually have a 928 set developed.

The S4 and later factory exahust manifolds are already "shorty" headers, and pretty damn good, too. It would be interesting to measure if there's any gain or loss with aftermarket "shorty" headers.

I especially like their other Porsche offering, a set of headers for your 911 with the inline 4.

72C1075 references a Ford Mustang part on other PaceSetter catalogs - I think thats a typo.

I think that is a "generic" picture...

You'd think that if they really made them, they would know that '87-'95 are all the same...

Aftermarket headers and "fit" can be very subjective.

I just did a bit of digging into this website. As Hans states that part number is for a Ford Mustang. www.pacesetterparts.com is not affiliated with Pace Setter Perfromance Products. I called Pacesetter Parts to inquire about the shorty headers for 1990-1991 928. No answer but voicemail. I left a message. I then read in the small print on the bottom of their website a disclaimer stating Pace Setter Parts is not affiliated with Pace Setter Performance Products except as a distributor. Hmmmmmm?

I called Pace Setter Performance Parts and inquired directly about the Shorty headers for the 928. Not surprisingly, they know nothing about them, don't manufacture shorty headers for Porsche and have not heard of www.pacesetterparts.com. I directed them to their website where they confirmed the part number listed was for a Ford Mustang.

So, perhaps this company is a sham, they have a incorrectly listed a non-existent part, or perhaps they are substituting lesser quality offshore manufactured parts. Either way, until I hear back from them I'm not thinking seriously about these headers.

Looks like the part is no longer listed under the 928 directory on the site.

I never got a call back either. Interesting.
