Help me understand my CE Panel
On the back of my central electric panel, there seems to be nothing connected to one side of the fuse at locations 35, 37, 38, and 44.
What's going on here?

Attached is a section of the CE diagram for the 85. I would assume your year is similar. when looking at the diagram it appear that the input side terminals are bridged so that a single wire supplies power to both fuses. the easiest way to tes this would be to disconnect the wire at fuse 43 and use a DMM (digital multi meter) and see if there is continuety between the blades at the top of fuse 43 and 44. and the others seem brigded similarly.

Scary, but it does beat it being some sealed black box priced for $1000's.
MBMB, they are very different by model year.
What car are you working with? What transmission, what market was it sold into?
Those open positions are likely just skipped for your model. Rest of it looks pretty good.

Doh. Refixed my signature block. I'd taken my full name out.
No problems with the CE panel—I have it down to take out my HVAC recirc box.
The pairs of contacts are bridged.
I keep reading that the panel should have unused fuse slots. I'm not seeing it.

For an '89:
Fuse 8 is for seat heating - but you may not have heated seats...
Fuse 9 is for the factory telephone - I assume you don't actually have one.
Fuse 13 is for Rear AC - but many cars don't have it
Fuse 45 is for the rear fog light which USA cars didn't have
The bridging is implemented inside the fuseholder block modules on the input side - the numbered fuse blocks are NOT compatible by year the bridging is quite different between some adjacent years... be careful.
Does that help...

So, Alan, N11 (position 11 on plug N) is empty. The wiring diagram shows it as the output side of fuse 9. If I add a terminal to N11, that'll give me switched power through fuse 9, right?
Likewise, if I add a terminal to T23 I'll get switched power through fuse 45?
(I have heated seats and rear A/C.)
