Chuck Z , its a later one #281 I agree with you PCNA is probably a little lost . As for a GT or a GTS , I chose a GT because I felt it was the best sorted out 928 , and rod / oil burning issues on some of the GTS's . I had no financial restictions when my wife insisted I get a new car , it just had to be reliable . She expected me to buy a new turbo or GT3 . But they still look like hotted up VW s

+1 assuming the cosmetics and history are excellent as well, that's right on for a properly marketed car. CL isn't the place to get that kind of money.
Lately there have been a few higher mileage GT's that were properly marketed that have brought something not too far from $25k.

(not that I'm biased or anything..)

5-speed GT why isn't it worth +20k?
As long as PPI checks out and it's been maintained.
Someone grab this before I have to play musical chairs with my garage space.

Yeah, it's been corrected.

There is no doubt the GTS is the better looking car. That whole piston and rod problem was so stupid on the GTS, along with the increased torque moving the flexplate more and killing every thrust bearing in all the automatics. The two extra counterweights trying to make the engine smoother at idle wasn't all that clever, either. I get that the cars had gotten so expensive that they had to make them smoother for the rich...but really, they rev like tractors, compared to a GT.

And Chuck, note that I said "slightly downhill"....It's still a long fricking roll to the "next" best car!

Still doesn't work for me for some reason just pulls up the home page. Anyhow I assume that you are speaking to the white 91 gt in New York. Prices are about the same I think the Denver car has a few more features.
I have been in contact with the owner of the Denver car and he seems like a good guy. He has owned the car for 13 years and has a new teenage driver and has run out of garage room is the story I got. He has lots of records. I have the vin and the option list if anyone is interested. If it lasts long enough for me to find garage space for it I am very interested even though I was hoping to find a more rare color.
From the information I have the timing belt is about 5-6 years old so that will be a sticking point for me as I will want that replaced right away. He also mentioned some previous damage so a good PPI will be a must. Any advice is appreciated

Sounds like you're seriously in the hunt. If you get to the point where you're really going over this car (or another '91 GT) with a fine toothed comb, feel free to shoot me a PM. I can be a pretty good reference as to what's stock - what should be where, etc. (not to rule out Afshin, Jarrod, etc.)

Thanks JP.

I would also be happy to offer assistance with reviewing close up pictures, just shoot me an email at afshinn@hotmail.com. Hopefully one of the local guys can chime in for a PPI suggestion.

You won't be disappointed with a GT!

Talk to Stan (MrMerlin) if you need a serious pro look at this car. He's a bit south but it's worth it to get a known experienced eye on it I think.

AFAIk by US law it would have been illegal to use '93 MY VIN in car made before January 1st 1992. Thats the reason why early '93 MY M718 option cars production could start in January or February 1992.

I would like to find another one but I'm trying to remain picky and not jump into anything to fast. As long as I have the space and don't get in trouble with the other half I plan to keep the one I already have. If I move forward on anything I will do whatever it takes to bribe Stan to take a look. The previous damage the owner mentioned makes me a little nervous on this one even if it was fixed properly
