Does setup try to install program parts under 64 or 32 bit part of the windows 7 folder structure? Could be that it just tries to get to wrong area by default and needs to be pointed towards 32 bit folders.

I've tried Troubleshooting compatibility, I've tried to back date service packs for XP which was recommended and still no dice. THe error is "incompatible application" if you go through the troubleshoot guide for windows 7

I had this happen on my 32-bit Windows XP install. It stopped when I opened a command prompt, changed the dir to \PET\prog and ran pet7.exe. Either that or attempting to run it a certain amount of times made it go away.

If you get into playing with 32-bit vs 64-bit folders, do some research first - they are NOT what you expect!

Ok..just double checked my install and it seems I found v7.0 update 226/28 . So not the latest 7.1 but it works and i was just able to update prices and seems to work flawlessly on my Win 7 64bit machine. It's not like the 928 parts are changing anytime soon..so I'll likely stick with this version. BTW..the VIN search is pretty cool

I tried downloading DR's linked files, but can't get those file servers to work consistently.

Anyway...found mine via google search and it linked me to a site "megaupload" where the version was...

Just loaded PET 7.1 what an excellent program. Thank you so much. It won't update it says access denied. Great program anyways.

I'm having a strange problem following DR's install instructions; when I try to install the updates I get an error that says something about "access denied" to C:\PET\DATA\PO\update\temp. I downloaded from the first set of links.

Anyone else having this problem with XP SP3?

Great link - Thanks , installed just fine
I really like the feature to put your VIN number in and it highlights the appropriate parts!

Much better interface than the previous versions
