Default Wife found out about the other women

Yep, my ruse to keep the 91 Turquoise S4 project car and the recent 90 S4 Zyclamrot aquisition a secret for a few more months came to a crashing halt Saturday after returning from the Lemon's race. There on the kitchen counter were the new license plates and registration from the DMV. Who knew they would arrive on a Saturday. I work from home so I have been intercepting the mail daily.

We were having friends over for dinner so without looking at me she says "A 928?" "A-yep" says I and decide it best to have this discussion after friends have come and gone. Funny thing is my buddy who convinced me to move from 944’s to 928’s was there with me. He had gone to the Lemon’s race with me and was staying for dinner. He sounded a bit like Roger when he said under his breath “You’re Fooked!”

So after I squirm about it long enough she reveals she has known about the Turquoise project car for almost a year. Seems I inadvertently mentioned it in an email to a couple of friends that created an unrelated email chain that got copied to her. She let me think I had that as a secret all that time. She thought it cute until I told her we owned two 928's. That news did not go over as well as that info truly was unknown to her. It saddened her.

You've got to know I have a fantastic wife. The only error in character and judgment I've ever noticed was her choice of me as the "man of her life". We have a very honest relationship and always tell the truth. I learned Saturday sometimes omission can have the same consequence as lying. I felt like crap when I finally fell asleep after explaining/justifying.

I woke up in pre-dawn light to Lora snuggling up to me, not uncommon. She whispered that she still loved me and knew I'd never hide anything as substantial as a 928 from her again. I apologized again and shared my appreciation and love of her. She then said the most amazing thing "You know…. you should look for a good performance driving school". I have often mentioned that I would love to attend one. She cut the thought short... "Cause if I'm going to have two 928's I better learn how to drive them to their fullest." With that she kissed me on the cheek, rolled over and went back to sleep.

My wife, she's a keeper. I may be the light of her life, but if I'm not careful she may change the bulb.

When I bought the GTS I'd had permission to spend $8K to buy the midnight blue GTS that Jim Morton ended up buying, not the $22K that I spent for the midnight blue GTS that I ended up buying. When I blew the engine up, I had AAA tow it to 928Intl after Mark A kindly offered a space in his lot. I had to call Jen to come pick me up that Sunday night, with all 3 cranky overtired kids in the van that she'd been watching all weekend during my trip to Portland to drive it back. Rather that tearing my head off, she calmly decided that I'd lost my mind and bought a car sight unseen without a PPI and that this was carma biting me in the ***. She chalked it up to temporary insanity/midlife crisis #2, conveniently forgetting that I'd played the midlife crisis card to buy the GT.....

Fast forward to yesterday, and she asked to borrow my laptop to check her e-mail. I'd forgotten I had my 928 excel spreadsheet (with the gory details of total cars/parts/tools/stroker expenditures in it) open on the desktop, and she alt-tabbed right past it without stopping. I managed not to flinch. A little close for comfort, tho....

Wow, that Zyclamrot one is one of the prettiest colors I've seen. Bet that's the one your wife will drive the most.

My initial thought while starting to read that was "Ruh roh, Shaggy!" Glad it turned out well. A wife like that is truly one to cherish, worth more than gold or silver! Take care, my friend.

Both those cars are exceptional colors. Exceptional. She's clearly sees what good taste you have.

I certainly know how to pic cars and I'm better at picking the perfect friend and wife.

Nope, just a brother. I have often thought if cloning could get you the same person, emotionally, intellectually as well as physically, I could become a billionaire. She also smart as hell and lots of fun. Truly one in 3.5 Billion. She does have some cool single friends though.

So.... how much of the design is she aware of? Any secrets left

Please don't tell me we are going back to Palomino

It was a longshot, we all knew that
