Isn't 302 just the tramp stamp on the rear bumper?

The list of option codes on my '88 5 speed. It has some nice options like sport seats and Bilstein shocks. It's much quicker off the line than my '91. I'm wondering if the rear axle ratio is lower and if code 302 denotes a different rear end(axle).

302 is the tramp stamp, such as "928 S4" raised lettering pasted on the bumper.

It means the car had a decal saying "928S4" on the back end when it left the factory.

Plenty didn't - was a no-charge factory option to have it or not have it.
