Default Question about Club Sport Wheels

I'm looking for a set of 8' and 9' Club Sport wheels. I f anyone has a set for sale let me know. My understanding is that the 928 spec CS' had offsets of 60 mm front and rear. Is this correct? I've found some 8" with ET 52.5 which I assume are for 944's.

The 944 wheels were 7" and 8" I think... 1" narrower than the CS wheel. FYI the apostrophe indicates FEET, so you have actually asked for information on 8 foot and 9 foot CS wheels. The quotation mark's are for inches. I don't have CS wheels and I can't get to my Design 90's so I can't be very helpful. Sorry. The CS wheels are nice wheels, getting tough to find 16" street rubber, but not to bad yet...

James- You want to trade your design 90's for a pair of Chrome slots?

Rod, you are correct. There are 8" CS rims with a 52mm offset, and I believe those came on the 944. The 928 CS rims are 8" and 9" with a 60mm offset. Good luck finding a set as they are as common as hens teeth .

The 944 when equipped with Club Sport wheels used 7x16 65mm front and 9x16 60mm rear. The 928 when equipped with Club Sport wheels used 8x16 60mm front and 9x16 60mm rear.

You can run the 9" all around with 245/45/16 tires. It will fit and will put a little more grip up front where it is needed. No one will know that the fronts are "incorrect", and the 9" are found pretty easily.

I am quite sure that the 9" wheel with ET 52,3 is most likely a Design 90 rear wheel, similar in design. Check the PET or similar to verify.

If Youre not religous about the wheels, You can use Design 90 9" rear and Club Sport 9" in the front.

I recall seeing this post in the 'wanted' forum and being amazed that there wasn't more interest, maybe this guy's still got all these CS rims sitting around.

FWIW, I have a literally perfect set of 8 and 9" ET60's that have been polished and reanodized twice now (zero miles on them since the 2nd refinishing) but I wouldn't let them go for any reasonable sum of money unless I were desperate to move them, and I'm not.

Jeff,

My D90's are my track wheels for my S4. While I don't TEND to use that car on track anymore (hell, I have not been to the track SERIOUSLY in FAR to long anyway) I would not want to trade or sell them...

The 8" CS with 52.5 is a 944T front wheel.

I thought the only 8" CS was the 928 front ?

944T had 7" and 9" ?

Not exactly sure where the 8" 52mm offset CS rim is from, but when I compared them to my 928 8"CS rim it was noted that the 928 60mm offset is achieved by machining down the 52mm to 60mm. The 52 looked like it was forged that way and the 928 8" rims had obvious machining down to 60mm and even the stamp/markings looked like it was done by hand.
