I'm not sure why anybody would get excited about a V8 with a flat plane crank as they sound like a bag of nails at tick over and like a Jap tuner car at higher revs. TVR over here went from a traditional V8 to a flat plane crank with their cars and it robbed them of their soul and may be some of the reason why they went bust, people didn't buy into them.
As for the arguments about putting Ford or Chevy engines in a Porsche why? By the whole car if you think they're that great. People keep griping about their 928's but seem to forget that the newest is still 25 years old, by the time your Ford or Chevy is that old it will look like a turd and be worth about the same but whatever flaots your boat I suppose.
In 25 years time people will probably be saying the same thing about the latest hydrogen cell or electric car making more power than there 25 year old ZR01. If you want modern power buy a modern car.
