Looks nice...like the color too! If it is running up to date and in decent condition I would think $6k is not to much to ask for such a car!

Spoke to the owner today. Car was bought by his brother in Arizona from Arizona later sold to his dad. His brother drove it from Arizona to Kansas in November. 84 year old Dad doesn't drive anymore so it so it's been sitting. They decided together to sell it. Brother bought it about 8 years ago from the original owner. Completely serviced. Has more recent records and can scare up some other records.

It's an 86.5 serial 2995. Not in the Registry.

Full VIN: WPOJB0926GS862995

Tires are about 8 years old but still have good tread. Not driven much.

Left side (from front) gasket is leaking oil. Price can be negotiated.

Upper bolster on driver's entry side is worn down (typical).

Paint has chips but he believes it is original. 10 foot car but in good shape overall

Green interior. Nice rare combo. Upper bolster on driver's entry side is worn down (typical).

Dash has a cover (placed there for sun protection by his brother 8 years ago) but believes it has no cracks.

TB/WP done recently-checking when.

At 70 MPH said there is some mild vibration-thinks it is the age of the tires.

Been for sale since turn of the year both on CL and in Panorama Magazine.

Open to a PPI.

Owns a Boxster himself ('97) and says dealers have no clue how to care for 928's or even a Boxster that old in the Wichita area.

Michael

Michael, nice report! I think it is going to be a great car for someone!!! If you like the "S" cars this would be a really decent one to have it sounds like! Imagine picking that thing up for $4500 or $5000! AMAZING!

A check on Autocheck doesn't tie up well with the story of the "dad's car..."
Seems like it was bought in AZ and has been continuously registered in Kansas since. I'm not saying it couldn't have been stored in AZ, just doesn't add up...

Thank you!! I liked it so much I bought it. I was wondering if you know how to find out how many were this color?? I have never seen any others this color, but it is original.

Thanks again for the compliment, even if it was pre-purchase!

Thanks for all the compliments!! I have had fun with it so far, but have been working on too many projects to take new pics!! I will try to get some taken tomorrow after I wash it and post them.

I am pretty happy with it (got it for a REALLY good price), but there are many small projects that have needed attention - even though the PO was a pretty nice guy.

Sean, I wish I was, but the number of family members going exceeds the number of seats (and I know the OK Highway Patrol frowns on putting them in the back hatch)

I was getting ready to post a new thread asking if there is a directory telling where 928 owners are located?? I would like to know who is around to get to know them and help/ask for help when needed. Anything like that??

Thanks again for all the positive reinforcement!!

Reminds me of the 1976 Pontiac LeMans my dad had...loved that green metallic paint...but not the landau roof...

Let us know the projects (curious about price LOL)

Sorry guys, I lost the daylight by the time I got the beauty all spiffied up. Here are some pics that my Dad took when I was looking at her prior to buying. I am looking at some scuff marks on the sunroof in the last pic.

Is it against "forum etiquette" to put prices that you paid for stuff?? (Don't want to sound like I'm bragging or a newbie!) I think I got a pretty good deal, but I have also had more projects than I thought.

Projects done so far: CV joint boots replaced, A/T flushed and serviced (never done in 130K miles??), tie rod ends replaced, alignment, new tires, and numerous electrical gremlins chased.

Still to do: A/C service, RMB, new stereo, new front air dam, some paint work and more electrical gremlins.

She's an abolute beauty.

As far as prices, I have no idea but I've seen lots of posts with prices. Someone else will pipe in. I think you definitely got a diamond in the rough!

I love the Tag--does it go with the purchase?

I know that I am HAPPY with it, flaws and all!

It looks really good except for the few small paint flaws, but she runs like a champ, and will go even better with a few mods!!

I also like the color because I have never seen one in this color before. Dad thought that it had been repainted, but it is original.

Anyway, I am really happy with my latest acquisition and am sure that I will drive everyone nuts pretty quick with all my idiot questions.
