I received my confirmation for the Texas Mile March 26-28 at Goliad, Texas and I'll be taking my Supercharged '85S 5 speed! I'm one of 200 vehicles, the only 928 they had registered. I'm "pumped"!
I'd like to extend an invite to all of you to join me and Team 928 to have a good time at the Texas Mile!
Ed
Mark Robinson was talking about doing it, but I doubt he would be taking his 928...but you never know. We had talked about having a 928 gathering and driving down there to see what is happening.
It would be interesting to get one of the monster motor 928's down there....but they really aren't made as 1 mile drag racers...either real road course cars with too much downforce or ORR cars... Maybe I should bring the lemons racer down there!!! With its brutal 196whp engine!!! I might make...125mph in a mile...maybe
Cheryl and I will be there. You have to register almost a year in advance so she won't be running it this year but I'd love to see her try it one day. Her's is the supercharged '93; I bet she'd surprise a few of the boys!
That's at least three 928's that will definitely be at the Texas Mile.
Sounds like the making of a good get together. Who else is in?

Registration is currently open for the October run... no need to wait a year!
['High rollers' might enjoy the Texas Outlaw Run in September.
It starts in Houston, heads to San Antonio, Austin, then Dallas, and ends back in Houston.
No affiliation; part of fees will reportedly go to the 'Boys and Girls Country' charity.]
(Re: Goliad -- Corpus is ACS Level II; San Antonio and Houston have ACS Level I... just sayin')...
Ed -- I wish you well. I kind of liked Road Atlanta, myself!

Long time no talk to young lady; hope you are well. Thanks for the info.
Their website says the registration is closed but the waiting list is open. ???
This year's no good in either case until we confirm that her MAF isn't blowing out of it's boot.
Soooooo, if you want to watch, how does that work? Do spectators park on the side of the mile-long strip and watch? Kinda sounds like an event Art Mann would be at
The web page says something about a grassy area behind or beside the pits where spectators can watch. I was thinking it might be hard to see much from ground level, but looking at Google earth, the grassy may be a huge area along the runway and there are few if any trees around, so maybe the view would be ok. I know it would be good from the top of my RV :-)
