Awesome Interior

BUT...
I must say for the record: this summer I carted three large suitcases, bunch of automotive tools, two laptop computers, a violin, AND a cello in my 928! Much more practical than a Boxster in any case!

Not sure what all the excitement is about. That is a nice interior, but certainly not flawless. Few things are
The tunnel cover is an easy piece to do, but that one was especially well implemented. Aside from that though, a lot of areas do not fit all that well and a lot of details and/or refinements are missing.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's bad. It's actually pretty good. I just don't think it's on par with the best "from any make of car".

Somebody tell me what the flaws are in the first example? Of course Paul's work is exceptional, but the first pic shows an exceptional section of work to me too. It's a different style, that's all. I like that clean, minimalist look too.

That is basically what I see. ^^
It's not a competition and it is not an either/or discussion. It is not even an auto vs. 5 speed thing. The car pictured is exceptional for the colors and the leather work and the amount of coverage and the sport seats.
I see no need to post anything competitve/neagtive. That is a phenomenal looking 928 and was hoping someone else knew of it or had more pics. I would sure like to see more large format shots of this car.
Just enjoy beauty when you see it, because it's rare.

If Dan H ot Khaled get theirs redone completely we will have more to look at it, and it is not just the skill of the artist but the actual quality of the leather piece and the color. In the past for other reasons I have looked at more than a hundred of swatches of leather. There are lots of choices and finishes, makes a difference imo.

Ed, if you really want to know, email me and I will explain.
My original post was not an effort to knock down someone else's work, or to compare it with mine. I just took offense at the labels put on what is, after all, a pretty ordinary interior.
Those of us who take this work seriously, and dedicate ourselves to hone the techniques, research the masters, put in the time and effort needed to make every single detail perfect, would be offended, when work like this is elevated to the status of "flawless" or "best from any make of car"
Because it then makes all the long hours and hard work completely trivial and worthless.
I have been told that I try too hard and that at the end of the day, most people simply do not care. Maybe they were right

Needless to say it all boils down to personal taste. I think the first set of pictures are nice I even like the transmission tunnel in leather, it's not like any one sits back there anyway, but for me french seams are the way to go.

I started this thread because I do appreciate great work and I am not alone in thinking that interior looks great. Go ahead and post more interiors that look great. I'm all for it.
Did you not read this already posted by me
That was said before someone unnessesarily dragged the porsche factory into the discussion, since ferrari does better interiors today than porsche.
I have posted about your work in the past directly in other forums saying you're one of the best leather artist's in existence. I have done nothing but compliment your work here and places you don't even see. So I don't get it.
I like your work and I like the pic I posted just as much as when I posted it.
Go ahead, I would enjoy a discussion/seminar on this, that's why I made the thread.
To Anyone else with pics of great interior work, please share. The only thing not needed in this thread is pointless sniping.
Since the original poster as made it clear that he wants his opinion to stand, I will respect it.

First thing that jumped out at me in the original pic was the wrinkle/gathering in the console and driver's seat, which meant it looks nice but definitely not perfect. There also seem to be a couple minor issues with the seams. All in all it's a very nice interior, but not perfect to my untrained eye. Personally I prefer the seamed look and that center console looks like a big marshmallow.
