That was my first thought. My second was "no more beer for you!"

Perhaps your customer did not get the upgrade or learn that it was available to him. Please inform him that it waits if he would just contact me.
I just ran across this thread...

Sorry Carl, but I call BS - and my post count doesn't reflect some double digit newbie on a mission, although most of my posts here are admittedly a waste of cyberspace, and only provide minimal entertainment.

FYI, I installed the parts EXACTLY as depicted in the provided instructions that came with the Ultimate Sway bar.

To your credit - the bar itself is a very nice unit. But the associated hardware looked like it was from a garage sale, missing lock nuts, the spoiler saving kit was missing a mounting bolt, and the tow chain holes don't line up worth a crap with the OEM holes on the car. Not an impressive showing of quality fitament.

In fact, in my 35+ years of doing fabrication and customizing everything from snowmobiles, boats, planes, RV's, offroad everything to this 928 - I'm hard pressed to recall ever seeing a more poorly fitting kit than the Ultimate Sway Bar.

It was as if it was for another car. Ok if I'd been warned, but not ok when expecting the POS to fit w/out a major engineering effort, "in an hour or so".

As Greg noted above, it was indeed binding. In addition, I couldn't use two of the "optional" stiffness settings due to clearance issues, and it didn't even stay intact after a mere 30 miles of street use.

And yes, the drop links actually got bent from hitting the tie rods, and the lever hardware was grinding the inside of my custom wheels at lock.

When Greg saw it after I complained that perhaps I didn't do something right, he confirmed the provided design and parts were not up to the task.

After several discussions that went no place with you, I decided to have Greg fabricate parts that would solve most of the problems rather than wasting time and being treated like I was some retard that doesn't know the difference between a heim and a hemrroid - even though we sent pics and fully described the problem and possible solutions in great detail.

I think I asked if I could send back the un-usable parts for a partial refund, but that didn't go anywhere. I finally put them on ebay, just so I wouldn't be reminded of all the frustration and expense.

I fully understand that aftermarket parts can often require some tweaking, since production numbers are low, which makes parts hard to field test across a wide spectrum of situations.

But I didn't appreciate being told something must be my fault because I can't follow some basic directions, especially when my observations are confirmed by one of the most respected shops in the 928 community. Just one look at all the mods on my 928 should indicate that you were not dealing with children. A Gifted Adult Teen maybe, but decidedly not children.

Although I suppose I should feel vindicated that you finally acknowledged there was an issue by offering an upgrade - not telling me about it doesn't help your reputation with me a lot.

IMO, It's not a mechanic's job to tell me about your products - it's your job. I paid you for the parts, not him. So relying on someone else to notify me when you have all my contact info, have repeatedly done business with me and it was you that took my payment for the bar - says to me that you really don't give a crap about me as a customer.

Given I'm not the only one that apparently had similar issues, I believe you should someday at least consider the possibility of acknowledging that some of your customers might have a minimal clue when discussing their concerns, instead of brushing them off like drunk street beggars.

On the other hand, some of us are - so maybe it's hard to sort that one out, lol

In any event, I'd sure like the upgraded parts if you are still offering. If what you have is a cleaner solution than what we developed, I'll implement it. If not, I'll just send it back.

928SS,

I dont know who you are. Your name is not associated with your post.

Like I said, we published an update to our early swaybar kits and if you'd like one you can have it.

It is not neccesary to dis the whole swaybar kit - we saw the bind, we improved the fitment, and we published the update.

Email me your name and address to carl@928motorsports.com and I can get it out to you.

Hard to believe, but....

After destroying the inner hats on both 3 piece wheels and the complete lack of response from the vendor about this problem (which is what this thread is actually about)...

This is the sugar coated version of how Rob actually feels!

The original post on the updated swaybar kit is dated 6/22/09

Here is the link:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-improved.html

and the complete lack of response from the vendor
...obviously not. We emailed every customer that bought the early swya bar kit to advise them of the update, and posted the update on the Rennlist.

Just had to have another whack at the piniata, hey Greggers?

Driving on the wrong side of the road - whichever side of the road that happens to be Australian drivers can be relied upon to get it wrong.

but their beer is awesome.
Maybe in comparison with Bud or Miller......

The toilet posts are more than a little off-topic.

Please take them to a different thread.

Thank you.

it's just time for this thread to shut down. It's not going anywhere constructive.
