Such an occasion, shouldn't the MPH be higher? Like 100 MPH? Gives you something to shoot for when it clicks over at 200k.

So Alan, now that it's broken in, you can stop babying it.

Note to others... don't buy a Blackberry 9000 expecting to get much of a camera.

How do you get 847 miles out of a tank?

Oh, look at the MPG display - Alan must have some secret fuel saving device installed. Or maybe he is secretly running a hybrid electric drivetrain.

Congrats, Alan!

Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis!

202K and it cleanly handles and enjoys red line and beyond, will hold 6500 RPM in 4th all day long, then 5th falls to 3800 and takes forever to creep up.

Actualy for a phone its really not bad - by far the best phone cam I've ever had - but compared to an SLR - not so much - of (course..)

The conditions here were rather challenging - heading for sunset, low sun ahead on the horizon, taken while driving... my expectations were low. I had hoped to pull-over to shoot it but was on a section of freeway with no exits and nowhere to stop.

Just teasing, Alan... it's pretty obvious that conditions were very difficult for a capture.

Kinda what I was thinking. Or, maybe low speeds causes high mileage. A form of punishment for underutilization of smile inducing equipment.

Noboby ever accused me of underutilizing my equipment before...

I think 100K miles says different, my speedometer often reads something like that too (most days in fact...)

"Low speeds casuses high mileable" is an interesting twist I can't quite get my head around...

I did a mileage experiment in my BMW...since both have very similar top gear ratios and aerodynamics I would imagine the results would be similar in the 928..

At a steady 70mph I get 24mpg
75mph = 22mpg
80mph = 20.5mpg
90mph = 18.0 mpg

The moral of the story is gas mileage is "better" at lower speeds...but it as speed rises fuel economy drops slightly LESS...so going 28.6% faster only "costs" 25% less fuel economy!!! :>)
