Default Any one try Metro Molded door seals?

My rear hatch leaks a little water when it rains ... door seals could probably do with a refresh also. I've seen Metro Molded seals on the web for substantially less than the OEM's. Has any on tried them? Other recommendations?

Wow - Those are a lot cheaper! I used Metro Molded Seal +porsche 928 in a google search and found a few good sites. ~$80 a pair. If they look and fit like OEM, that's a good deal!

I have never heard of them, but have been down this road more than a few times.

I will bet a hundred bucks that they are going to be just like the OEM crap that is offered for other cars.

You want the good stuff, get OE.

Just a length of molded seal - that's not bad but not like the real thing.
Probably works as an economy fix and at a good price.
I sell the left for $135 and the right for $125 so use that as a benchmark.

Roger, are the replacement ones from Porsche as good as the ones that came on the car?

The reason I ask is the crap from GM fits, but falls apart, and the aftermarket OEM stuff lasts, but does not seal.

Greg,
They appear to be better - have them on my GTS.
They have a different profile at the top with a larger lip.
They up issued the part number on all years to the latest design.

I have the new Porsche seals from Roger on my car now and they do seem better. The new profile is supposed to be designed to cut down on wind noise.

I bought a set of Metro seals for my Mustang, and they are one of the "better" third party suppliers of that type of product, but no clue what they might think works on a 928.

This is good to know that they make good seals.

I put a set of GM seals on my Corvette, and they were close to a grand, fell apart in less than a year, just junk, the second set did not last either, the set that is on there now is from Soft seal, they fit ok, but are to hard and leak after many tries at my shop and two body shops I gave up and just bring a pair of towels when I wash it.

I wish Metro Molded made those--if they were 1/2 the cost, I'd accept the risk. At least once...
