my wife thinks I have too many hobbies. don't have time to keep active in all.

over the past few years my main activity has been working on my motorcycle and Porsches, and track/DE/PCA events.

other hobbies: hunting/shooting, fishing (fishing boat did'nt even get wet last year), carpentry/woodwork, constant maintenance on 150yr old farm house and keeping the farm equp running, general tinkering.

past hobbies: scuba diving, water sking, bicycling.

planned hobby: get sport pilot license and get small 2 seater plane. ideally build my own plane. and grade a landing strip at the farm.

After an inactive start to life at the age of forty I took up jogging
and after that it just took over. In the past twenty years I must
have run, biked and swum many thousands of miles.
I have done 9 marathons, too many half marathons and 10Ks
to remember and in my fifties I got into triathlons. At my best
I came in fifth in my age group (50-55) at a national event.

I had hillwalked as a teenager and got back into that in my
forties as well. Hillwalking led to "Munro bagging", Munros
being Scottish peaks over 3000 feet, and general summer and
winter mountaineering. I was then introduced to Scottish winter
climbing and really loved it even if it was at the lower end of difficulty.
Scottish winter climbing is a mix of snow and ice choked gullies,
iced up rock faces and steep frozen turf. Exhausting, frightening
and thrilling all at the same time! The pic is me on"Recess Route"
on Ben Arthur near Glasgow.

Sadly I have had to give all this up to care for my wife who is quite
disabled now but I still manage to turn walking our three rescued
dogs into a 10K cross country jog over moors and through woodland.

I have a modest collection of guns.

Do a little weight lifting on a regular basis.

Do a lot of sudoku and crossword puzzles (in ink, natch!)

Do professional country music songwriting and studio production.

And I'm a classically trained pianist since age 5. Here are a few solos:

As a hobby, I buy cars amd motorcycles that are pretty much ready for the junkyard. Then bring them back to life and sell them. Usually about 3-4 a year.

Here's the '87 Hurricane I saved last year.

I collect watches. I have some which are more of a novelity for $10 to some limitied edition high end ones for $10,000. I like to collect as many different brands as possible, however on the last overseas trip, I did buy 2 of the same, but they look entirely different.

Snap Sanjay.
I like watches too. Buying and trading on the net I have managed
to work my way up to owning six older Omegas, watches I have lusted
after for years but could never afford.
After much "on-line" research I have also bought several replica
watches made in China and have been amazed at the quality.
